On Palmaria Island you can do Trekking activities with various routes to choose from including the entire tour of the island, for experts and less experienced and enjoy breathtaking views of Portovenere and Tino Island. As for the paths I refer you to the Portovenere Natural Park website
Punta Secca offers the possibility of a fantastic swim with a breathtaking view. It is located right in front of Porto Venere and hosts the free equipped beach "Il Gabbiano", the largest on the island. The beach is made of sand mixed with gravel surrounded by maritime pines. On the seabed grows posidonia which offers shelter to many fish and other marine organisms.
Pozzale Beach, on the eastern side of the island that is part of the Portovenere Regional Natural Park and is renowned for its uncontaminated landscape. It is characterized by a mix of pebbles and rocks, the waters are clear, ideal for swimming and snorkeling, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding cliffs. At Pozzale you can spend your time in a charming bar-restaurant that offers some traditional dishes from La Spezia.
Forte Umberto I - or Umberto I Armored Tower - is a military building that is part of the fortified system of the Gulf of La Spezia and is located on the northeastern tip (Punta Scola) of the island of Palmaria in the municipality of Portovenere, in the province of La Spezia. Owned by the provincial authority of La Spezia, it is part, together with Fort Cavour and the Batteria del Semaforo, of the defensive positions of Palmaria within the fortified system of the Gulf of La Spezia. Purchased by the Province of La Spezia, the fort was recovered and restored with European funds after an agreement between the provincial authority and the municipality of Portovenere. Managed by the Marenostrum Foundation, founded in 2002, it has become the seat of a cultural center linked to the sea with exhibition spaces, conferences and educational workshops in the field of underwater archaeology and marine sciences.
